2007 Canada 50 Cents Golden Forget-Me-Not Sterling Silver

"Forget me not!" cried the drowning knight and thename of this springtime wildflower was born. According to legend, a medieval knight was picking flowers for his lady along a riverbank when he fell intothe water under the weight of his amour. Ever since, the 50 species of my osmotic have been called forget-me-not in countless countries worldwide and their romantic symbolism for tragedy and faithful love endures to this day.
These endearing flowers are indeed unforgettable. The blossoms consist of five petals with a delicate yellow centre and measure just 1 cm (.4 in) across, but the y grow with such profusion that they blanket the entire area in soft blue, white or pink. This flower's preference is by far the rich, moist soil found along the water's edge and gardeners that match these conditions will be treated to a welcome explosion of color every spring!
