Showcases two beautifully engraved birds in its colourful Canadian habitat!
A small songbird with a bright-eyed expression, the tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) is often seen flitting about in the company of other foraging birds such as chickadees. Its repetitive whistle adds a cheerful sound to any day! Beautifully engraved in 99.99% pure silver, the titmice on the reverse are found perched in a yellow birch tree, whose colours convey the warmth and brightness of the summer season. In wooded areas, the titmouse's repetitive whistleis often heard before the silvery bird itself is spotted. Once seen, its small bill only seems to exaggerate its small size. The titmouse typically spends much of its time foraging for insects; but if it happens upon a precious sunflower seed, a few strikes of its bill are all it takes to crack the shell open for a welcome feast!
